How to Get Yourself Motivated to Exercise?

Motivated Workout Tips

1. Set a Realistic Goal

A big reason people don't continue with their workout routines is they've set impossible goals. Don't do this to yourself. You cannot get to your ideal weight with just one week of exercise. What you could do is lose one in a short amount of time. You can push for two pounds next time you weigh yourself.

Losing pounds and toning up your body takes time, but if you're realistic about your goals, things will work out. Each time you reach your goal you'll feel accomplished, and that'll motivate you to continue.

2. Having Inclusive Workout Clothes

One thing that can make it hard to workout is feeling left out of the workout culture, and a big way this happens is with clothes. Workout clothing companies are notorious for offering only smaller size outfits.

Some of these companies say they do this to motivate folks to workout hard to fit those clothes, but that doesn't work. You want to feel like you're part of this world. You want to feel good in your clothes, and you deserve that. This is the reason you should look for women’s size-inclusive workout clothes.

3. Reward Yourself a Bit

If you just started a series on your favorite streaming site and fell in love with it, use that love to motivate yourself. Stop yourself from moving on to the next episode until you finish your workout. Each episode is going to be a reward for the work you put into your workout routine and your health.

It'll be hard to resist at first, but you'll get used to waiting for your reward, and you might begin to enjoy the routine. Keep in mind that the reward doesn't have to be an episode. It could be anything you want, like a fruit smoothie or whatever else you feel is a good reward.

4. Make the Pledge Public

It's easy to promise that you'll workout to yourself and break that promise. No one was there to see you break that promise. This keeps your secret to yourself. You don't want to put yourself in this position again. What you want to do is go ahead and make this promise to exercise in front of others. Invite your friends or family members to see you make this pledge.

Tell them what your first goal is going to be, and tell them to help keep you accountable. Sharing your goal with others makes it harder to quit, and you want that help.

5. Create a Positive Plan

Understand the things that are getting in the way of your exercise routine. It could be all sorts of stuff. It could be something as simple as your comfortable couch. What you want to do is identify the obstacles that make it hard to stick to your workout routine. Once you've identified the obstacle, create a positive plan that you know will help you overcome that obstacle.

The reason this works is that your brain wants to solve problems, and you've just created one. It's going to want to see it through, and that could help you stick to your fitness goals a little easier.

6. Find Your Tribe

Every so often, the best way to reach your goal is to do it with others. Yes, there are a lot of people out there like you who are trying to reach a particular fitness goal, and they're doing it alone. Doing something this challenging alone is nearly impossible, so consider forming a tribe.

Find folks who are trying to reach similar goals to you, and see if they'll join you. You guys can talk to each other about working out. You can motivate each other to keep going, and you can hold each other accountable if you miss a goal.

These are some effective ways to motivate yourself to exercise, but there are other tricks to try. Talk to a fitness expert or a personal trainer to see if he or she could offer a few more ideas for you
